Haringey Community Cinema and The Post Bar invite you to HCC’s Film Festival.

Launched in May 2025 with only a few committed volunteers, Haringey Community Cinema has quickly grown into a lively gathering place for film lovers, activists, parents, neighbours and friends. This year, after putting out a call for submissions, we have brought together a powerful selection of films that speak to our shared struggles for justice, for a Free Palestine, for freedom of movement, for an end to police violence, and for the many forms of resistance that sustain our communities. With ‘London’s Radical History’ as our theme, we are excited to share this year’s programme.

Our call invited filmmakers to interpret the theme in their own way, and we were especially keen to highlight works that uncover overlooked stories, celebrate grassroots organising, illuminate everyday acts of defiance and reflect on the moments that have shaped the city’s past and present. These films are not only creative works; they are openings for discussion, learning and imagining. We hope they will spark conversation about the challenges we face today and inspire us to think together about the kind of future we wish to build.

The poster for this year’s festival has been created by the multidisciplinary artist Fiona Quadri, who will also lead a zine-making workshop during the festival. The workshop will invite participants to reflect on the question ‘What kind of community cinema do you want to imagine and build with us?’ and will culminate in the creation of a collective HCC Manifesto.

The festival will conclude with an evening of music for a party co-hosted with the Post Bar. The celebration will feature the performance of Revuelta Acústika followed by two guest DJs, DJ Basura and DJ Sadqueersclub, who will take to the decks from 9:30pm until closing.
